Why Crateworks
- Aluminum frame does not rot. The single biggest maintenance burden on coastal wood windows is annual finish work; aluminum eliminates it entirely.
- AAMA 2605 PVDF finish on every coastal project. Salt-air does not chalk or fade the coating in the 20-year warranty window; tested in coastal salt-spray conditions.
- Source-direct on the premium coastal spec. No Hamptons dealer premium on a thermally-broken aluminum window.
- Cert IDs disclosed on every quote. NFRC for energy compliance, NAFS for structural, stainless hardware for salt resistance. Permit documentation ready.
Common questions
- Do I need impact-rated glass in the Northeast?
- Generally no. Impact-rated (hurricane) glass is required in specific Florida and Gulf Coast HVHZ zones; most of the Northeast coast does not have an HVHZ designation. Standard tempered or laminated safety glass meets Northeast code. Check the local jurisdiction for any specific wind-zone designations.
- How does AAMA 2605 differ from standard finishes?
- AAMA 2605 is the top of the AAMA finish tier (10-year weathering test, 20-year practical service life). AAMA 2604 is the standard commercial grade (5-year test, 10-year service). AAMA 2603 is interior-only. For coastal Northeast, specify 2605 standard.
- What lead time should I plan for in summer build season?
- Coastal projects with summer install dates should order by January or February for a June or July install. Lead time runs 12 to 16 weeks; the construction season window is the binding constraint on most Hamptons and Cape projects.
- Are you in a position to coordinate with my local builder?
- Yes. We coordinate with the project builder or architect on install drawings, delivery scheduling, and on-site logistics. Trade partners in the Northeast coastal region have a coordinated supply path; one-off projects engage through the standard quote process.
