Sizing and pack
Starter strip comes in 12 ft 6 in lengths, and J channel, F channel and corner posts are taken off by the linear foot of openings, edges and corners on the job. The starter strip has to fit the lock of the panel profile you hang, so the quote asks for the panel line before it prices the strip, and colour is confirmed against a chip for everything that shows.
Send the take-off in linear feet by trim type, or the window and door count and the corner count and the quote works the run out and shows it. These lines only exist where panel-and-trim siding dominates, which is why they sit in their own group on the basket and are quoted per job.
What travels with the quote
The data sheet travels with the quote, with the profile drawing, the pocket depth of the channel, the material and the coating named as the maker states them. Pocket depth matters more than the name on the box: a channel that is shallow for the panel you hang shows a gap at every window in the first hot week.
If the builder specs a trim profile, send the spec line and the quote either meets it or says it does not.
Delivery
Trim rides the same pallet as the rest of the order, strapped in its cartons. The order is placed with a deposit, the delivery date is agreed in writing at the same time, and goods are released on payment of the balance.
Long lengths ship to the yard unless the site can take a truck. Trim in a colour you have not run before is confirmed against a chip before the order is placed, not after the pallet lands.
