Marble slab is the surface that earns the room. Crateworks supplies Calacatta, Carrara, Statuario, Calacatta Viola, and specialty marbles slab-cut for countertops, vanity tops, fireplace surrounds, and full-height feature walls. Each slab matched against your project so the veining reads as deliberate.

Slab selection, veining, book-match

Marble slabs vary slab to slab. That's the value and the challenge. Hand selection means we match the slab to your drawing: book-match for a feature wall, vein direction for a waterfall counter, edge alignment for adjacent tops.

Standard slab sizes ~120" x 70" (3m x 2m). Bookmatched pairs ship as numbered set. Slab photography supplied before shipment for approval.

Finish, edge profile, install considerations

Finish: polished (high-gloss reflection), honed (matte, less etch-visible), leathered (textured, hides smudges and water marks). Edge profile: eased, half-bullnose, full-bullnose, waterfall (vertical drop matched to top vein direction), ogee for traditional applications.

Sealing is required at install and every 1-3 years thereafter depending on traffic. Marble etches on acid contact (citrus, wine, vinegar). That's character to some buyers, defect to others. Set expectations before order.

Yes. Book-matching pairs two adjacent slabs sequentially cut from the same block so the vein pattern mirrors across the seam. Specify on the order if a feature wall, waterfall counter, or matched fireplace surround is in scope.
Polished gives the high-gloss reflection associated with traditional marble. Honed gives a matte finish, softer look and less etch-visible. Leathered (or 'brushed') adds texture and hides water marks and fingerprints. Pick based on the room's role.
Each slab is photographed before shipment for approval. Slab selection is part of the order; you can approve specific slabs by photograph or by visit if a project warrants. Hand-selected slabs are numbered and shipped together.
8 to 14 weeks for hand-selected slabs from approved order to delivery. Stock-finish standard marbles ship faster. Specialty quarry marbles depend on availability; confirmed before order.
